NBC’s reality series/talent contest “Fame” came to an end last night (July 23) with the selection of Michigan native Harlemm Lee as the winner. The man who described himself by saying, “I’m 35. I’m bald. But I’m beautiful,” was selected through a home audience vote. The runner-up was Shannon Bex, a 23-year-old contestant from Portland, Ore.

Lee performed a rendition of “Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie” on the finale episode, where the winner was announced from among four finalists. All 12 original finalists were on hand to perform during the show, including a rendition of “I Sing the Body Electric” from the film “Fame.”

Being named the winner of “Fame” nets Lee a host of prizes, including a management deal with Johnny Wright, who was also a panelist on the show. One of Wright’s clients — who include Justin Timberlake, Jermaine Dupri and P. Diddy — will produce a Lee single, which will be released on Wire Records.

Lee will also have a role in the upcoming Broadway version of “Fame,” a $100,000 spokesperson contract with Wilhelmina Artist Management, a year of free accommodations at Los Angeles’ W Hotel and one-year of training at the dance academy run by Debbie Allen, who was a producer, as well as host and judge on the NBC series. Carnie Wilson served as a judge, while ‘N Sync’s Joey Fatone hosted.
